With the additional personnel within the ICT team this year it has allowed my role to change.
My key tasks for the year include:
1] Ensure maximum delivery of SNS target support work with secondary ICT departments.
2] Continue to support William Brookes in its One School Pathfinder development work
3] Develop other specific aspects of the wider role, for example:
- development of the Shropshire Learning Gateway
- use of BECTA self-review with secondary schools
- e-safety across the LA
- work with SITSS on developing the role of technicians in school
- research and development

Shropshire County Council has appointed 2 new ‘Harnessing Technology’ Consultants. The role of the consultants is to support the use of ICT across the curriculum to enhance learning and teaching in schools. The consultants will be offering free support on a range on teaching and learning tools such as Podium, Do Be Learn-it and e-safety awareness. In addition all schools in the authority will be able to buy in additional ICT support. Schools will be contacted in the very near future outlining the support offered by the consultants.

These posts are to expand our team from 4.8 to 7.8, we have recently appointed 2 learning platform development officers so it looks like our team is on the up and up
