With the increase in the amount of UMPCs we are seeing in schools and at homes, using them as an e-book readers seems an obvious application.  The only problem is that e-books don’t look so good in landscape view, so along comes EeeRotate.

Hot on the heels of the new MacBook Pro from Apple that promises 8hrs battery life (www.apple.com/uk/macbookpro/), ASUS launch their 1000HE EeePC that promises 9.5hrs battery life (promos.asus.com/US/1000HE/ASUS/index.html).  Obviously these are the maximum battery life that you can expect to get, but I would hope that you should be able to get a school days worth of use out of the battery.   Does this mean that ‘battery life’ will soon become something that we no longer have to worry about as long as we charge the devices up every evening?
