NEN resources
October 12, 2008With the changes to the Shropshire internet feed I have received an email from Steve Horsfield of WMnet to remind me about the NEN facilities regulated by IP address i.e. access is only available from a recognised schools’ IP address.
The four NEN services available are:
Audionet sound files http://audio.nen.gov.uk
Screen Online from the British Film Institute http://www.screenonline.org.uk/ yes it is on public access, but the AV materials are only available through the NEN
The Learning Curve from The National Archive http://www.learningcurve.gov.uk
The Pathe Archive https://www.britishpathe.com recently extended until the end of December 2008.
There are many other resources such as the Image Gallery http://gallery.nen.gov.uk which are simply available free.
In addition to those we have Gigajam from WMnet http://gigajam.wmnet.org.uk/ and Iboard from WMnet http://www.wmnet.org.uk/secure/iboard/ both controlled by IP address.
