Just a reminder that schools can get any site individually unblocked for that school by sending a letterheaded fax signed by the Head to Core/Azzurri. Whether that site is appropriate and suitable for young eyes is a judgement call for the school, and it might be an idea to include specific statements pertaining to appropriate access on the AUP. We need to be so careful in what we allow school systems to be accessing.

They don’t on my computer! They go straight to the websites that are named – however, you could always copy the URL and paste that into your address bar and that would get you to the sites. Yep- I know YouTube is banned in many schools, and of course it is not my intention to suggest that people should work from home. However, I have been contacted by a number of people who have found videos on YouTube that they would like to use (and there are many, many of them). These people have asked how they can use the videos in school and I always direct them (copyright permitting) to http://zamzar.com, where they can download the videos, put them onto a memory stick or whatever, and then share them with the children. (So this bit is a response to a direct request by a number of teachers – not a suggestion that you should work from home).

All of the links on this post link to (what I presume is) the ShropshireLG login page and so is not useful for those of us who do not have access to the site yet.
Also I blieve youtube is blocked (by Core/Azzurri/LEA) at Wakeman school and most other schools.
