Animoto is a great tool and since I introduced it to the students at <a href="http://marywebb.net"Mary Webb I've had countless entertaining and informative videos in my inbox. We've even used it to create evidence for OCR Nationals! A word of warning though - if you regard email addresses as personal information (I know I do) you're on dodgy ground re the Data Protection Act if children register their email addresses outside the EU. I got round this by having a catchall address at marywebb.net; using this their emails and notifications (and any subsequent spam) come to me. This has the added advantage that whenever they create a new video, I'm notified and I get to vet it straight away. If I see something I don't like (contravenes the "Would Mr Jones' Granny object to this?" policy) I can change a password and remove the offending article (thinks: this might be dodgy ground too actually). The ofender needs to see me to get their password back.
